Bulls Island

Located just outside of Charleston, SC city limits is Bulls Island. If you are a nature lover, you will fall head over heels for this area. There is a ferry that runs year-round to get you to the island. Be sure to take your time, as there is a lot to see & do. We recommend signing up for a tour so you can see everything that Bulls Island has to offer such as beach sunrise expeditions, paddle boarding, & hiking, just to name a few.

 

Francis Marion Forest

Also, just outside of town is the Francis Marion National Forest. There are so many great ways to spend your time in this forest. Grab your bike & hit the trails or go for a leisure walk. There is also fishing & hunting (if you have the license to do so). In the warmer months, bring a swimsuit & your boat so you & your family can enjoy the water!

 

Myrtle Beach

Only a two-hour drive up north, you will find the coast of Myrtle Beach, SC. In all seasons, this city has a lot going on. You can head to the beach or go fishing, explore Broadway at The Beach, or take the family to compete in a friendly game of putt-putt at one of their many locations!

 

Pawley’s Island

Just next door to Myrtle Beach, SC, you can find another South Carolina gem, aka Pawley’s Island. Many love going shopping in their local boutiques or learning about the history of the area. However, if you enjoy relaxing, nothing beats a few hours in one of their signature hammocks!

 

Cape Romain

Another nature-lovers paradise is Cape Romain. Filled with history & beautiful views, it’s hard to only spend the day there. When you are there, be sure to sign up for a tour & learn about what the staff does to help conserve & protect the area.

 

Columbia

No visit to South Carolina is complete without a visit to our state capital. You will need to plan your day carefully here, as there is a lot to see! They have the zoo, historic buildings, college football, shopping, restaurants, & more to fill your time.

 

Beaufort

Only an hour south of Charleston, Beaufort, SC is a lovely small town. They have several annual festivals that are attended by not only locals but visitors as well. While there, explore their shops. Or you can see the beauty of the land via boat or kayak. Lastly, book a historic tour to learn more about this quaint town.

 

Edisto

Even though South Carolina has many beaches to choose from, nothing beats spending the day on Edisto Beach if you are ever wanting a change of scenery. A popular destination spot, it’s known for relaxing days spent on the water followed by shopping & a bite to eat at their local restaurants. It is a quick 45-minute drive from Charleston & should not be missed!

 

Hilton Head

If you don’t want to drive too far out of town, head to Hilton Head. This is a popular spot for tourists as it has a phenomenal resort. On it are beaches, a golf course, shopping, & much more. Off the resort, you can find history, tours of the area, & other fun water activities.
