Tuesday, October 1st

Moja Arts Festival. Taking place at Cannon Street Arts Center located at 134 Cannon Street, Charleston beginning at 7:30 PM. 2019 marks Charleston’s 36th annual MOJA Arts Festival: A Celebration of African-American and Caribbean Arts.

Wednesday, October 2nd

Garden Concert at the Gibbes. Head over the Gibbs Museum located at 125 Meeting Street, Charleston between the hours of 6:30 PM to 8 PM to hearoutstanding live music performances. Bring a picnic and a lawn chair and enjoy a plein-air performance under the setting sun featuring members of The Black Diamond Band and the Zandrina Dunning Experience. Black Diamond and Zandrina, along with a few of their friends, will bring you an evening of Soul music with a twist.

Thursday, October 3rd

The Fall Tours Of Homes, History & Architecture. The historic beauty and charm of Charleston come alive this October as guests are invited to see the private interiors of some of the nation’s most exceptional historic houses during the 43rd Fall Tours of Homes, History & Architecture. TICKETS ON SALE NOW!

Friday, October 4th - Sunday, October 6th

Into The Woods Festival.Running from Friday, October 4th through Sunday, October 6th. Held at Charleston Woodlands, 4279 Ashley River Road, Charleston.

Leftover Salmon, John Medeski’s Mad Skillet and Doom Flamingo are part of the lineup for the 2019 Into The Woods Music Festival. The inaugural installment of the festival is put together by the team that runs Charleston Pour House.

Andy Frasco & The U.N., The Fritz, Funk You, Kitchen Dwellers, Sol Driven Train, Travers Brothership, Electric Kif, Kozelski, Robotrio, Schema and Reverend Jeff Mosier are more of the acts set to play Into The Woods.

Saturday, October 5th – Sunday, October 6th

Oakland Fall Festival presented by East Cooper Land Trust. October 6th- Oakland Fall Festival Picnic • Optional 5K Trail Run • Live Music • Art • Kids Activities Nature Walks • Historical Tours Oakland Fall Festival is a fun, family-friendly picnic on the lawn of historic Oakland Plantation from 1-4 pm. Estimated attendance is 500 people. October 5 - Oakland Society Appreciation Reception On the afternoon of October 5, we will host our major donors and sponsors (annual commitment of $1,000+) for an intimate appreciation reception at the historical Oakland Plantation house. This is truly a unique opportunity.

Sunday, October 6th

Vet Fest Music Festival. Rescheduled from September due to Hurricane Dorian. Come enjoy some of Charleston's favorite food trucks, bounce houses, local vendors and live music for the entire family while supporting our veterans. This takes place at Danny Jones Park, 1455 Monitor Street, North Charleston, SC from 12 PM to 6 PM.

The Tri-County Veterans Support Network is a network of many agencies committed to implementing a planned, coordinated community response to the varied needs of our veterans to include emergency relief, housing, employment, education, spiritual support and others as well as identifying and resolving gaps in services and resources to support our local veterans and families in crisis.

Money raised will go to support veterans in need of emergency relief and mental health care.

Monday, October 7th

Linda Ronstadt: The Sound of My Voice Film Screening. Come to the Charleston Music Hall at 37 John Street, Charleston at 6:30 PM. Ronstadt will guide you through her early years of singing Mexican canciones with her family; her folk days with the Stone Poneys; and her reign as the "rock queen" of the '70s and early '80s. Celebrate an artist whose desire to share the music she loved made generations of fans fall in love with her - and the sound of her voice.

Tuesday, October 8th

Reverend Horton Heat w/ The Delta Bombers. Come to Charleston Pour House located at 977 Maybank Hwy for a night of music with the doors opening at 7:30 PM and the show starting at 8 PM. A full night of music and fun!!

Wednesday, October 9th

ZZ Top, Cheap Trick, Frankie & The Witch Fingers. Volvo Car Stadium has them all! What a way to shake off the mid-week blues!! Located at 7596, 161 Seven Farms Drive, Charleston. Doors open at 6:30 PM.

Thursday, October 10th

North Charleston Farmers Market. Located at the Felix C. Davis Community Center, 4800 Park Circle, North Charleston. The market runs from 3 PM through 7 PM, May 9th – October 31st. Last month!!

Friday, October 11th

Mary Pag Marlowe. This is the last weekend you’ll be able to catch this Pulitzer and Tony award winner Tracy Letts. Mary Page Marlowe is a story of one woman’s life, from birth to death. It is a piece about the fragility of the moment and its effects on one’s identity. Told out of chronological order it follows the title character as played by six actresses and one doll. The show is at the historical Woolfe Street Playhouse located at 34 Woolfe Street, Charleston. Show is from 7:30 PM to 9:00 PM.

Saturday, October 12th

12th Annual Arts and Crafts Fair at Magnolia Plantation and Gardens. Located at 3550 Ashley River Road, Charleston. The event runs for both Saturday, October 12th and Sunday, October 13th. Magnolia's "Autumn on the Ashley" Arts and Craft Fair is back again! On Saturday & Sunday, October 12th & 13th, dozens of Lowcountry artisans will feature their handcrafted items for sale from 9 am - 5 pm.

Sunday, October 13th

Second Annual Taste of Charleston. Taste of North Charleston will take place from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the all-new ExQuis Event & Conference Center, 5101 Ashley Phosphate Rd, (located in the Festival Center) in North Charleston; SC. Admission is $15 in early-bird special and $20 general admission. The event is open to the public and children. Several North Charleston restaurants will provide samples of their unique menu items and will be accompanied by restaurants visiting from other districts nearby.

Monday, October 14th

Wednesday, October 16th

MASC Annual Oktoberfest. Annual fall social.... The Maritime Association's Oktoberfest! We'll celebrate with a wide array of German specialties, craft beer & beverages, pretzel bar, and much more. This is a casual, relaxed event to gather as a community and prost as the sun sets over Alhambra Hall in Mt. Pleasant. Located at Alhambra Hall, 131 Middle Street, Mount Pleasant. Running from 5:30 PM to 8:30 PM.

Thursday, October 17th

Freshfields Village October Sip and Stroll. Running from 4 PM to 7 PM at Freshfields Village, 165 Village Green Lane, Kiawah Island. Visit participating stores and restaurants during the Fall Sip & Stroll for special in-store events, sales and promotions along with sips and light snacks.

Friday, October 18th

Candlelight Tour at the Aiken-Rhett House. Step back in time and witness the sounds, shadows and waning light of the day’s end in this stately 19th-century townhouse. Preserved as found, the Aiken-Rhett House is a poignant reminder of the effects of time and climate on historical structures. Appreciate the challenges of life before modern lighting while experiencing the beautifully lit house and learn about the lives of the family and of the enslaved who lived and labored on this once grand urban estate.

The 45-minute candlelight visits use LED candles for the safety of our guests, the house museum and its collection. A glass of wine will be offered with the tour.

Capacity is limited. Tours are offered at 6:00 pm, 6:30 pm and 7:00 pm on Fridays, October 11th, 18th and 25th.

Saturday, October 19th

Halloween Bar Crawl on King Street. Check-in will be from 2 - 5 pm at The Brick where you will pick up your scorecards and other swag, then crawl to the other participating bars on your scorecard, enjoying drink specials and getting your scorecard marked at each bar.

Sunday, October 20th

Mount Pleasant Children’s Day Festival. The Park West Recreation Complex offers this fun-filled day especially designed to celebrate children. Kids have the chance to take a hot air balloon ride, ride ponies, play laser tag and be themselves while they enjoy a large selection of attractions. This event runs from 12:00 PM to 5:00 PM.

Monday, October 21st

Nevermore! Voyage Into the Netherworld. At the Historic Dock Street Theater you’ll step back in time and witness Edgar Allan Poe as he boarded a steamer in Baltimore for an overnight trip to New York. Five days later, never having arrived in New York, Poe was found wandering the Baltimore streets delirious and raving mad. Taken to a nearby tavern, he soon died. His death and final days remain a mystery. Nevermore speculates on what might have happened on that final dreary nightmare voyage. The play features scenes from Poe’s own stories, The Telltale Heart, The Gold Bug, The Cask of the Amontillado, and more, and includes Poe’s real visit to Sullivan’s Island in 1817, where some speculate he met the love of his life —Annabelle Lee.

Tuesday, October 22nd

Alison Krauss on Tour. Don’t miss Alison Krauss at the North Charleston Coliseum & Performing Arts Center with doors opening at 6:30 PM and the show starting at 7:30 PM. Fun night!!

Wednesday, October 23rd

Astronomy in the Park. Weather permitting.Lowcountry Stargazers will host "Astronomy in the Park" at Brittlebank Park, most Wednesdays from sunset until 9pm (10pm DST), weather permitting. Stop by after work or before dinner and see what the universe has to offer. Our members will have a telescope or two set up, and will be available to answer your questions about the night sky.

They will set up at the south end of the park opposite the Marriott Hotel, and for those attending, we ask that you park in designated parking spaces, and not on the grass.

Thursday, October 24th

And Then There Were None. The Village Repertory Co. presents this Agatha Christie adaptation just in time for Halloween. The show will be at the historic Woolfe Street Playhouse located at 34 Woolfe Street, Charleston.

Friday, October 25th

Jam on the Water Concert Cruise: PHISH. Charleston Harbor Tours and Follywood Productions have teamed up once again for the 4th season of Jam on the Water Concert Cruise Series. Cruises will run from 7-9:30 p.m., with boarding beginning at 6:30 at Charleston City Marina. Tickets are available now through Charleston Harbor Tours. Each cruise is ages 21 and over. Pre-cruise gathering at Salty Mike’s from 5-6:30pm. Don’t forget to bring cash for the bar on the boat!

Saturday, October 26th

Fall Festival at Mount Pleasant. This event takes place at Mount Pleasant Towne Centre located at 1218 Belk Drive, Mt. Pleasant from 12 PM to 3 PM. Live music featuring Logan and The Kidders and Bach to Rock. Photobooth, arts & crafts, face painting, caricatures, bounce house plus balloon animals. Also, trick or treating and hula hooping!! So much fun for everyone!!

Sunday, October 27th

Lowcountry Halloween Fest. Held at 5000 Coliseum Drive, North Charleston from 12 PM to 6 PM. A unique and safe trick-or-treating experience with dozens of family-friendly local businesses handing out candy. Free admission and free activities! Children can trick-or-treat and enjoy bounce houses, photo booth, balloon animals, airbrush face & body art, laser tag, and much more. Special guests will be making an appearance. The first 1,500 trick-or-treaters are guaranteed candy! 

Monday, October 28th

Ghouls and Groms Halloween Costume Party. Enjoy a night of skating in your costume with live music and food trucks on site. Located at SK8 Charleston, 1549 Oceanic Street and running from 6 PM to 9 PM!

Tuesday, October 29th

Dracula: Ballet with a Bite!Based on the novel by Bram Stoker, we see Count Dracula continue his seductive reign of terror with his Brides of Darkness in Transylvania. Created by South Carolina Ballet Artistic Director, William Starrett, this is a Halloween treat not to be missed. Held at the Charleston Musical Hall with doors opening at 6 PM and show beginning at 7 PM!
