MOJA Arts Festival. The MOJA Arts Festival is a celebration of African American and Caribbean Arts. Selected as one of the Southeast Tourism Society's Top 20 Events for many years, the MOJA Arts Festival promises an exciting lineup of events with a wide variety of traditional favorites. Nearly half of the events are admission-free, and the remainder is offered at modest ticket prices. This event runs from Sept. 26 through Oct. 6!
The event is a multi-disciplinary festival produced and directed by the City of Charleston Office of Cultural Affairs.
Charleston Wine Festival. Located at the Charleston Harbor Cruise Terminal on Saturday, October 12th, 1 pm-5 pm. 50+ Wines, beer, live music & DJ in an impressive indoor/outdoor venue right on the water! Tickets include entry, entertainment, souvenir acrylic wine glass, and all wine & beer samples. $45 advance, $50 after Oct. 3, $60 day of the event. First 500 tickets are just $35.
12th Annual Arts and Crafts Fair. Magnolia's "Autumn on the Ashley" Arts and Craft Fair is back again! On Saturday & Sunday, October 12th & 13th, dozens of Lowcountry artisans will feature their handcrafted items for sale from 9 am - 5 pm.
Featured items include wood carvings, paintings, textiles, jewelry, photography, natural skincare, lawn art, and more.
Magnolia will also be hosting an Autumn plant sale in conjunction with the Craft Fair. Stop by to purchase your favorites, including Fall planted bulbs, Fall blooming Camellia Sasanquas, Winter blooming Camellia Japonicas, ferns and much more.
Attendance to the Craft Fair is free of charge. Attendance to Magnolia Gardens requires basic garden admission. Garden admission is $20 for adults and $10 for children 6-12. Children 5 and under are free.
Oktoberfest. The Lowcountry's oldest and most beloved Oktoberfest celebration returns to MUSC Health Stadium annually for a memorable day of seasonal beer, German music and food, and homemade fun. This event is held on Oct. 27 from 12:00 pm - 6:00 pm.
More than just a celebration of Fall and all-things German, Charleston Oktoberfest has become the city's favorite annual community picnic, with games, outdoor activities for children and an atmosphere that encourages friends and families to get away from their various screens and enjoy the simple pleasure of each other's company.
The Woodlands Fall Music & Arts Fest. Umphrey's McGee is proud to announce The Woodlands Fall Music & Arts Festival, a brand-new event happening in Charleston, South
Carolina, on November 8th and 9th, 2019. In addition to two nights of Umphrey's McGee, The Woodlands lineup includes Big Something, CBDB, Empire Strikes Brass, Heather Gillis Band, Manic Focus, Runaway Gin, Spafford, Sunsquabi, The Movement, The New Deal, Voodoo Visionary, and Zach Deputy, with more artists to be announced in the coming weeks.
Taking place in the picturesque Charleston Woodlands, a 6,000-acre private nature reserve, The Woodlands reaches beyond your typical weekend music festival, offering festival-goers the opportunity to rent a kayak to fish on two stocked lakes, go for a hike on miles of wooded trails, or hop on a stand-up paddle-board and enjoy a view of both stages from out on the water. Attendees can also choose from a variety of on-site camping options to maximize your Woodlands experience.
Charleston's Hot Air Balloon Festival & Victory Cup Polo Match. Balloons. Polo. Fashion. Food. This FREE event will take place on Nov. 15 at 4 pm – Nov. 16 at 9 pm. In its fourteenth year, this event isn't just a polo match; it's a networking and social destination drawing thousands for each event. Charleston's ONLY Hot Air Balloon Festival!
With events throughout the United States, The Victory Cup has become known as "America's Polo Match!" Come on out and enjoy a gorgeous day of green grass, majestic horses, heart pounding polo, dozens of food and alcohol partners, and beautiful hot air balloons!
The Victory Cup, which has grown to be one of the most significant equestrian events in the United States, is definitely the most fun. Kid and pet-friendly, bring the entire family and enjoy the 2019 Victory Cup Polo Match & Hot Air Balloon Festival in Charleston, SC! Held on a beautiful polo field just north of downtown this is a kid and pet-friendly event. For all pass holders, don't forget to join us on both Friday and Saturday for an evening Hot Air Balloon Glow and Tethered Rides (Approximately 4 pm - 9 pm - Entire Hot Air Balloon activation is Weather Permitting). Saturday starts at 7 am with a scheduled Hot Air Balloon launch, on the polo field! After the Hot Air Balloon launch, the food, wine and polo portion of the schedule kick off around 11 am for Golden Mallet VIP's and Founder's Lounge Passholders. The VIP portion of the event will include live music, a Hospitality Alcohol Tasting Tent (11 am until 1 pm for VIP's), a Battle of the Chefs Tasting Competition (All Day), rivalry Polo Matches (11 am until 3:30 pm), and a kids' play area (All Day). Founder's Lounge Passholders will also be able to enjoy a Farm to Table Dinner on the Polo Field, with the Polo Players (Approximately 5 pm)!
Both VIP and General Admission Passes include the Hot Air Balloon portion of the event starting on Friday at 4 pm until 8 pm, and then Saturday at 7 am the day of and then again around 4 pm and lasting until 9 pm on Saturday (weather permitting). Watch social media for updates. Balloon Pilots will be setting up at 4 pm on Friday and Saturday, on the polo field, for a nighttime burn, glow and tethered rides. If the weather cooperates, tethered rides will be available first-come, first-serve (purchase in advance ONLINE).
Charleston Oyster Festival. Held Nov. 16 from 11 am – 8 pm. The festival has your typical but delicious continental fair. Highlights will include live music on the main stage, wine, a selection of domestic and imported beers, a Children's Area and a "Food Court" showcasing a variety of favorite local restaurants to satisfy everyone's taste. Alongside delicious seafood accompaniments, Bloody Mary's, beer, wine, and spirits with a side of live local music
General Admission – Free in advance and $20 at the gate. Children 10 and under are free with a paying adult. Includes entry into event. The general admission ticket grants you access to the festival. Once inside, you purchase food & beverage tickets separately.
